That's great Barney, I know it will feel good to get on the road again, crawl out of that rut we all get in, and get a new view of things.

My daughter an I had a "discussion" about what "off grid" means. She lives in house off the grid full time. She thought that meant without electricity so when he husband bought a generator she got upset because she could no longer say they lived off the grid. But they are not connected to electricity, city water, or city sewer so how is that not off grid? They even harvest rain water for Pete's sake! Even as a kid she liked making up her own meanings for words which caused a lot of confused communications.

Technically off-grid means you're not hooked up to the electric grid that everyone else is hooked up to so you're still off-grid with your own generator.

Well, her house is out in the boondocks surrounded by many acres of land. Does that count? Probably not.

I would say that she is definitely IN the boondocks, and she's living OFF grid, which translated into RV language means no hookups. but as to whether or not she's actually boondocking; I believe boondocking in a house is a state of mind. And just like "Schrödinger's cat" she can assumed to be both boondocking and not boondocking at the same time. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
