My first day back in Laughlin

The Pioneer Hotel Casino. These are the folks that are nice enough to let me boondock in their parking lot.

  I went driving around today looking for a better place to boondock. I don't like the rule here at the Pioneer that requires you are always hooked up to your trailer,  except for a short time like going to the grocery store or something like that. Then you're supposed to come back and hook up again, which is pretty annoying. But what can I say, it's their property,  you can stay here for free, and you can't really complain about something that's free. So I think I'll just find another parking lot to boondock in.

I looked at Harrah's casino, and the boondocking parking lot thats still on their website, in reality is no longer there. And the gas station convenience store next to the boondocking lot where you're supposed to check in, is boarded up. You would think a major casino operation would at least keep their website up to date

All of the casinos require you to check in. This is to make sure you're not trying to permanently live in their parking lot, but most of them allow you to stay for a week or so, and as near as I can tell if you don't cause any trouble will allow you to stay longer. But I think the Bat flu closures have really put a financial strain on the casinos and it's possible us lot lizards are more trouble than were worth. You can still do it, but it's not as simple as it was in the past.

I went across the street to the Tropicana and they have a very large lot for boondocking RVs. They also have a dump station and some water you can use, but they charge $50 a week to stay in their lot. Although if you have one of their players cards and give them a certain amount of action you can stay there for free, after all that's why they want us RVers there in the first place.

I went into the Riverside casino which has a bunch of RVs in the parking lot, and I've stayed there before so I knew the drill. I went to the guest relations desk where you normally check in when you want to boondock in the parking lot and it was closed. I talked to security and oddly enough they didn't seem to know anything about it. So I think tomorrow I'll just drive down the street to the Riverside, Park in the lot with all the other RVs, and see what happens.
