Some pics are here, for how long I don't know, I need to get some new pictures to show.

it looks like there's still a shortage of current pictures, hence the unused pictures from my Last mini-vacation.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to take a few pictures of some changes I've made in the Lance camper, if something else doesn't come up.

Thanks for your comment Harry. Having not much of anything to write about today I used your comment as a jumping off point to ramble far too long in this response to your comment. So I turned my barely coherent response to your comment into my blog post for today... You didn't do anything wrong Harry, it was just your turn.

Thank you, Harry, the only way we bloggers know if we're doing something right, or wrong is to hear from our readers. So, input is always appreciated.

I write every day because I enjoy working on my blog. And the only time you won't hear something from me every day is when I'm boondocking in a place without Internet availability. And even then, I will write my blog every day, and will post it when I return to civilization.

But I understand a lot of bloggers can't do that. Working on a blog, especially one with pictures, is time-consuming, and a lot of bloggers had rather be out living their lives instead of writing about the life they've lived.....but I'm lazy, so sitting around doing nothing is not entirely unknown to me.

I've read that old geezers like me should have a dog because the dog will keep you moving around and going for a walk several times a day. Having to take pictures for my blog does the same thing. It forces me to get up and out instead of watching YouTube all day.

And since photography is my hobby, taking snapshots gives me exercise that doesn't feel like exercise. But if I had to walk for the sake of walking, I would only do it for a little while before finding it boring. But I'll walk anywhere, anytime, to get a picture, simply because I'm walking somewhere for a reason that I enjoy.

Yes, Harry, we would probably have much in common, mostly because my views on life would be considered perfectly normal back in the day but are now regarded as extreme. And since my opinions of life are considered extreme, I have to be careful about what I say on my blog. Which is sad but a sign of the times we currently live in.

I try to stay away from politics as much as possible, but sometimes things I'm thinking slip out, and what used to be considered normal for both political parties now makes me sound like a raving madman, and only proves how extreme I am.

But sometimes I can't help it. I grew up in the South at a time when boys got their first 22 rifles at 13 years old, and I still have mine. We carried our Boy Scout pocket knife to school every day... And nobody cared. The political parties were so similar it was sometimes hard to tell the difference between them because they both wanted to do what was best for America, a desire, which has long since disappeared. And as extreme as it may sound, there was no controversy about how many sexes there are.... and even I, with my extraordinary lack of knowledge could tell the difference.

Living like that for all of my life makes it hard to change my views on things because I haven't seen that the new ways, which some people believe in, are improving anything in life. In fact, everything seems to be getting worse.

Some people who used to agree on a subject as simple as... "Should everyone in the world be allowed to come to America and live at taxpayers expense for an indeterminate amount of time?" Is now so controversial that people end up hating each other at the very mention of the subject.

Every day I look at my country and remember the old saying, "Good will become bad, and bad will become good," which didn't even seem possible when I was a grown man, and now something happens almost every day that proves the old saying true. But anyway, thanks for the comment, Harry. I can't remember what your comment was anymore, but it must've been good.

Maybe tomorrow you can respond to OFM's comment.
I'd be interested in that too. Not that I'm likely to get going in a camper. But it would interest me. I'm old and like practicality. (I've given up musing about the state of the country and the world. Nothing I am able/willing to do but vote. Too old to do much about anything out there.....only in tiny things - how I treat people, etc. Mini-things. )

I should be able to respond to Barney's comment In tomorrow's blog. I haven't made a whole lot of changes in the camper, because changes usually involve adding more weight in one way or another, and the increasing weight of the camper is something I always have to be aware of.

In a tiny RV practicality is key. In the Arctic Fox it had such a huge carry weight that I could've hung pictures on the wall, or put in a 60 inch TV, and all kinds of unpractical things. But not so in the Lance. Everything needs a purpose and everything has a place and by living in it last winter, and the summer, I'm learning what absolutely needs to be here and what doesn't, to the point I'm not sure if I'M actually needed or not.

I pay very little attention to politics compared to the way I used to, probably because the older I get the less politics affects me mentally and emotionally, or the less I affect it. And just like you there's not much I can do about anything anyway so why worry about it. But I would really hate to see my grandkids grow up in an America that shows signs of becoming like Miami used to be, but there again there's nothing I can do about it.

Wow! Look at this Judith, my lengthy response to your comment almost made your comment tomorrow's blog post. I think if I'd written another few words you would have achieved the honor, the embarrassment, or possibly the humiliation, of being tomorrow's blog.

I find it interesting how our life changes and we become more aware of the "big" picture than we were when we were younger and living it. During my working years I seldom gave politics much consideration. Maybe it was because developing a career and family occupied my time. We also tend to forget the negative issues that impacted us at the time. The war in "Nam" with the political protest, aggression against law enforcement, the gas crisis and rationioning, assassination of the Kennedy's, and so on.

I think we are more aware of the issues occuring because being retired we have more time and probably the biggest impact is social media and the overwhelming flow of information and opinion which is sometimes factual or not.

Unfortunately social media is not always social and leads to opinions that lead to hate and divisiveness.

My Dad was a newspaper editor and reporter and I remember sitting around the table and having discussions(sometimes arguments) between he and my brothers over issues. We all left the table loving each other.

I appreciate your blog because it is civil and the readers all have different interest in what you are saying and photographing. I'm sure not everyone agrees with what everyone says and believes but in this forum everyone is civil and actually "social".

Thank you for sharing that, Larry, and I agree with everything you said.

I think the biggest difference I can see in politics today is how widely apart both sides are. It seems like in the past, one side of the political spectrum wanted a little bit higher taxes than the other, and how powerful the military should be, or how much money should be spent on welfare. I remember having friends who voted differently from me, but they were still my friends, but it's completely different now.

Politics is all about compromise, but how do you compromise when both sides are diametrically opposed to one another? What is the compromise to an open border? What is the compromise to America's debt growing exponentially every year? What is the compromise to dozens and dozens of different sexes? What is the compromise to uncontrolled crime? What is the compromise to criminals good, police bad? What is the compromise when you go from the concept of a social "melting pot" that worked to "diversity," which is literally tearing the country apart?

Politics doesn't work when there is no compromise, and how do you compromise with people who literally want to tear the country apart and rebuild it back into something they think is better? And I believe that's why we're having all our troubles today. One side of the political spectrum is trying to erase American culture and punish the people they believe are responsible for it. And at the same time, build back something that represents the diversity of the entire world and hope all that diversity will find a way to get along.... If someone would just pick up a history book they would quickly find out how well that's going to work out.

Your are dead on! IMHO the so called elites and the deep state relish power and money. No matter what side they are on. The issues today are meant to sew chaos which turns into control at some point. I could go on and on but don't want to get wound up on such a beautiful be it warm day.

Of course, you're right, Larry, but I don't think half the country sees it coming, and wouldn't believe it if they did.

I always keep my head down, Larry, but unfortunately, I no longer have any powder to keep dry; ever since I gave up my gun hobby, I no longer had a need for a reloading hobby, so I sold all my gunpowder, all my bullet molds, and hundreds of pounds of lead.... It hurt but RVs and lead just don't go together.

I have totally stopped reading/listening to the "news". My blood pressure is high enough without doing that. On election years, I gather all the literature that comes here and save it for the day before voting. I get a lot since I refuse to "join" a party. Then I read it all, make notes, and cast my ballot. Done.

That's a good way of doing it Linda. And yes I stopped listening to the news because it wasn't good for my mental or physical health.

So like everything in my life, I try to keep things as simple and as easy on myself as possible, to keep as much stress out of my life as I conceivably can, which isn't easy now days the way things are going.

But I have found a way that seems to work at least for me. I have determined that slavery, even though common throughout world history, is evil and no one should ever be forced into slavery. So as a matter of course I simply never vote for anyone that represents a group, an association or a party that allowed, accepted, and condoned slavery in any form at any time.

I know my method won't work for everyone but it keeps my life as stress-free as possible in these very uncertain times.
