Today I moved from the South Llano River State Park into the town of Junction and the Schriever city Park. This is a really nice place to stay if you like to Boondock. there are no hookups, but there's a water spigot available if you need some water.

You can park anywhere there's an open space including right next to the river, which is where I'm boondocked right now. Most if not all of the trees in the park are pecan trees and the only people I've seen in the park are walking around with bags picking up pecans off the ground. There's a three day stay limit, but it's free to stay here which makes it a real bargain.

Junction Texas is just a small town but there is a grocery store, a couple of hardware stores, a few gas stations, and the ever present barbecue restaurant. I don't think I've ever seen a Texas town, no matter how small, that doesn't have a barbecue joint in it.

Another thing that appears to be common in every Texas town is friendly people. Everybody I've talked to here couldn't have been nicer. And from my previous experiences in Texas that appears to be the norm. In fact the only thing I can think of that's been a problem so far is the lack of Verizon cell phone service, so I plan on having to make a lot of trips to the town library to use their Internet.
