How many pics would a woodchuck click if a woodchuck could click pics?

I've got all the storage boxes I need for now, I'll have to wait till I do a little traveling to see if there's anything else I need. I'm going to make some bungee cords when the bits and pieces get here Friday. And those bungee cords will be used for holding things down, and stabilizing the load.

This morning was spent fooling around with the storage totes that I bought and trying to find a way to secure them during my back-country travels and yet make them quick and easy to get to.

Everything that's going to be on the truck's floor will be completely secure and won't be able to go anyplace. The seat backs mostly block the storage totes on the first shelf, so I'm not really worried about them. However, it's the stuff on the highest shelf that's getting most of my attention since everything up there is free to go forward if I stop quickly, and for the most part, it is aimed at the back of my head.

Always looking for the simplest answer, my first thought was to wear my motorcycle helmet while driving the truck. This would protect me from storage totes flying around inside the truck and increase my chances of survival if someone runs into me.

Unfortunately, wearing a motorcycle helmet is kind of hot, especially in the Arizona desert. When you're riding a motorcycle, it's no big deal because you have lots of air beating you in your face, but without all that air blowing at you, it would be pretty hot inside the truck wearing a helmet. So faced with the choice of either removing the truck's windshield to make it more like riding a motorcycle or figuring a way to tie down the storage totes, I wisely ordered some bungee cord makins from Amazon, so I can assemble some bungee cords just the size that I need.

My daughter and my grandson on his seventh birthday.

I just saw these weeds growing in the garden today. They look like a dandelion but they're not. And that little puffball of seeds is only about an inch in diameter.

9/15/2021 This looks like a good idea in general. Like most good ideas, use will set up some changes that could never have been anticipated until the unit is in use. Is the driver seating being planned for storage also? I am enjoying the progression of ideas and solutions. Good job young man.

Thank you Barney. There's a few adjustments I can make in the system, and you're right trying to live in it will probably point out lots of things I should have done differently.

One day when they get those self driving trucks I'll be able to sit in the passenger seat and play on my computer, while my computer is also driving the truck. And when that happens I will take out the drivers seat and replace it with a porta potty so I won't have any reason for stopping before I get to my destination.

Well now, that makes a big difference. And now I've just given away my secret porta potty plans.

Due to my inability for the last few years to lift my 10 gallon propane tanks up into the bed of the truck without using a chain hoist, I have been using my passenger floorboard as a place to carry my newly filled tanks back to the Arctic Fox.

And now of course with the bronco sitting in the bed of the truck there's no place back there to put the lighter 5 gallon tanks that the bronco uses, so I will have to continue using the passengers floorboard to carry my extra tank since there's no provision in the bronco to hold more than one tank.

So it looks like the passenger seat is spoken for, in less I find myself in a position of needing still more storage space which I don't think will happen considering how much empty spaces is in the back seat of the truck.

I keep my motorcycle helmet too. Just in case there is a tornado bearing down. My husband and I were both once to be found in the bathroom waiting for a tornado to arrive, wearing our motorcycle helmets and laughing a lot. (It missed us.)

Of all the natural phenomenons tornadoes scare me the most. I lived through a lot of hurricanes living in South Florida, I survived a lot of earthquakes living in Japan, and I had to evacuate twice during forest fires in Colorado. But tornadoes scare me to death. So if I had a tornado coming me I would definitely put on my motorcycle helmet.

Thank you Barney, the backseat project is definitely coming together and looks like it's going to work out well.

I can now carry enough clothes with me that I don't have to do laundry all the time. And I can carry extra food so I don't have to boondock in a grocery store parking lot. And I've even got room to carry more of my precious tools around with me. Even though with tools it's more of a weight problem. I can even carry a few more winter clothes now, just in case the winter weather's not that great wherever I happen to be. So I have a glimmer of hope that I'm going to be able to boondock in comfort, if not in style.
