I wish clicking the pics would automatically name the flowers, but all it does is make them bigger. Fortunately there's a few more flowers starting to bloom now.
Night Rose.

That first photo doesn't really need a name put on it...once anybody has seen a peony, they remember it. They're rare down here, but will, in the proper spot, do their thing.

The Peonys are just starting to bloom now, and they do make a pretty spectacular show of it.

Our local country park has, maybe, two level campsites in the entire park. Even their dump is on a hill. It was probably not the best place to park for our initial camping test but it was close enough to home to change out what we would take with us when we left. And the trees there protected us from the massive windstorm that came thorough while we were there caused by a nearby tornado. Such excitement even before we closed on the sale of our house.

Sounds like you did just what you were supposed to do, which was test out the camper close to home before you go driving off into the wilderness.

My family's first camping trip was with friends in rented tent trailers when I was ten years old. It rained all weekend. We all went home and bought those trailers. I can still see us kids playing in the creek in the rain.

I think a lot of parents decisions on camping are based on how well the kids enjoyed it. For the parents, cooking and sleeping in the rain in a pop-up trailer was probably a lot less than fun. But for kids, some off and on rain showers were just an annoyance, that can be overlooked if they're having fun splashing in a Creek. So like a lot of parents they may have put your happiness, before their own. Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
