| I did a little bit of packing up to leave Monday morning, I try to do a few things ahead of time so I don't have so much to do the day I hit the road. If I'm only going to be in a place for a couple days I usually don't unpack everything. But if I'm going to stay someplace for a week or more then it becomes more like home and I spread out all over the place. The bedroom slide is one of the things that I leave in if I'm not going to be someplace for a week or more. It doesn't bother me when the slide is in and doesn't affect my life in the least. There are some drawers and cabinets that I can't get to but I don't have anything in them that I usually need to get to anyway. My desktop computer also stays stowed away because the only thing I use it for any more is working on videos and I haven't had the urge to do that lately. I wish I could get in the mood to do more video but whenever I finish one it always looks so bad that it takes me a while before I want to try it again. I'm hoping that when I get to the beach it will put me in the mood to shoot a video, but I'll have to see, because there has been some bad juju from my past regarding sand, saltwater, and cameras. Usually the Yamaha WR450 stays strapped down to its rack on the back of the Arctic Fox when I'm only going to be someplace for a short time. Is just too big of a hassle to unload it, and load it back up again just to run to the store. But when I get to the Padre Island National Seashore [ PINS ] I plan on running it up and down the beach to go fishing, and to just look around. I'm definitely concerned about what the saltwater is going to do to the motorcycle but other than rinsing it off every once in a while with the Arctic Fox's outside shower I'm not sure what else I can do. My TV is also something that stays packed up a lot of the time. The TV has a mechanism that holds it against the wall so it doesn't flop around when I'm driving, and sometimes I actually remember to lock it back against the wall before I drive off. normally when I get someplace I will do a channel scan to see if it's getting any reception, and usually it's not. Even if it does get a few channels there usually just a few home shopping clubs, a couple of TV preachers, and the rest are in a language that I don't understand. So normally I just leave the TV locked against the wall so I don't have to pack it up when I leave. theboondork | |
