Last night's sunset at the Benson Arizona Escapees Park.

 The wind was blowing hard enough that it woke me up this morning about 4 AM, I went back to sleep but before I did I realized that I might not be leaving this morning.

Sure enough the wind was gusting pretty good this morning, not hard enough to be dangerous to drive in but hard enough to make it tedious. So I re-upped for another night and I'll try again tomorrow.

I'm glad I got the visit to Tombstone done yesterday because walking around in this wind wouldn't have been any fun. Southern Arizona and especially Southern New Mexico are well known for their windy conditions which can come up suddenly, and will teach you rather quickly not to go to town and leave your RV awning out. And if you've never had the experience I can tell you that if your awning is out and the wind is blowing like it is right now you probably can't get the awning in without help from some kindly neighbors, and even then it's a major struggle.

I was so ambitious yesterday getting things done, getting packed up and ready to go this morning that I was stuck all day today with nothing to do. I didn't want to do anything outside because of the wind, and I had nothing left to do to get ready to leave, so most of the day was just sitting around relaxing. Not that I'm complaining, relaxing just happens to be my specialty, I've been known to relax for hours without getting tired. But I was mentally prepared for a 3 hour drive to Deming New Mexico through some of the most boring, desolate country in America and now I've got to prepare myself all over again. Oh well, it's a tough life but somebody's got to live it.

Main Street Tombstone Arizona. It doesn't take much imagination to envision Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday walking down this dusty street.

There's a lot of things that aren't on main Street in Tombstone that most people never get to see.

if you own an old building in Tombstone. It's hard to make any money with it if its not on the main street. Very few tourists manage to get off the main drag in any tourist town.

Some of the country's richest men, and some of the country's poorest, lived in this small town and walked down this dirt street. They not only left their boot prints in the dust, they left their mark on the history of America, and each in their own way contributed to the success of the greatest country on earth.
