Another beautiful day today, the weather being just about perfect. It's not raining in the afternoon as much as before, so my son-in-law turned on the sprinkler system for the lawn. He sure must like to cut grass because the lawn gets watered daily; it needs cutting every week.

I'm finding that my motivation to get things done is inversely proportional to the time I have to do them. The reason for that is my one-track mind only lets me do something I'm interested in at the moment, and at the moment, I'm not interested in doing anything.

I wish I weren't like that, it's a terrible way to be, and my daughter is the exact opposite. She can't stand to have things that need to get done, and she's not doing them. Of course, that's the perfect way to be if you work with attorneys and do contract law.

Many attorneys are similar to me and have trouble keeping on schedule and getting things done. When my daughter was doing paralegal work, it was her job to get things done and done on time, so all the attorneys had to do was sign the papers, so she's perfect for doing any legal paperwork that absolutely has to be completed by a certain date.

That kind of job would be a nightmare for me. I have problems completing jobs that I need to get done, much less completing something somebody else wants done. And that explains some of my run-ins with the IRS over the years when only my knowledgeable and efficient CPA has kept me from being thrown into an IRS Gulag in Siberia... And yes, the IRS has Gulags in Siberia; they lease space from the Russians.

Having lived almost my entire life like this is amazing even to me. I have been known to put off even important things, and by putting them off long enough, they went away with no repercussions whatsoever, which is every serious procrastinator's dream and goal in life.
