Procrastination....Not just an intransitive verb; a way of life

I was going to get up early this morning and head for Walmart, but I slept too late, so I put it off till tomorrow morning. I figure my boondocking spot here at Elephant Butte is safer being left alone early in the morning since most folks aren't running around at 7 AM looking for a camping spot.

I'll get some propane on the way there since my propane ran out last night just about dark. So I hooked up a new tank, put the empty one in the truck, and since my tanks last about two weeks, I don't have to worry about running out of propane during the holidays.

Once I get Walmart and the propane out of the way, I'll be able to hunker down in my favorite boondocking spot here at the Elephant for the holidays without a care in the world.

The ten-day forecast looks normal, 80s during the day and 50s at night with the humidity in the teens. Some days lately have been a trifle warm, but that's only because I've been used to winter weather for the last few months. But even on the warmest days, I'm perfectly comfortable with the vent fan on because of the low humidity.

And speaking of comfort, just down the road from me, maybe 1/4 of a mile away, there are empty hook-up campsites available with all the electricity anyone would want, and because of my annual New Mexico camping pass, I could stay there for a measly four dollars a night, and yet I choose to boondock.

Why is that? What does that say about boondocking? What does that say about me? Is New Mexico the only state with these great camping deals? Is the bat flu over? What do I do with all of these face-masks? Is John Lennon actually dead? Are John and Elvis doing two shows a night at the Mirage in Las Vegas disguised as celebrity impersonators? If there is no end to the universe, what was there before the universe was there? And if there was no universe, where did they stand while they were making the universe? These and many other questions will remain unanswered until I have absolutely nothing to write about in my blog.

Theboondork

This is the only flowers I've seen in the entire State Park. I've been here on Easter before and there's always been some flowers. But it is a beautiful bush, too bad there's not  more of them.

This is a close-up of the above bush. There's no leaves on it, there's only flowers. Maybe the flowers are the leaves. Whatever it is it's really purple. I have no idea what it's called, so I called it Bob.

 This picture represents my endless search for a boondocking spot away from the crowds. And it shows when I pull into my favorite boondocking spot at the Elephant, I slowly disappear until I no longer exist .
