Ready to leave

Clicking the pics requires decisiveness, determination, and the will to succeed... That's a lot to ask of one finger.

Sandhill Crane, I named this one Sandy.

I did everything I needed to do today before I leave tomorrow morning, so now all I have to do is put down the top and drive away. But where am I going to drive to?

I made a reservation at Rock Hound State Park just outside of Deming, New Mexico but my reservation doesn't start until March 27, so right now, I'm in what aircrews call a holding pattern, and everybody else calls hanging around killing time. And since it's less than a 3 hour drive to Rockhound State Park, I'm in no hurry to get anywhere until the 27th.

So I think what I'm going to do in the morning is head for Tombstone, Arizona, since I haven't spent much time there lately, and since I can now boondock a block away from Allen Street, which is the main drag in Tombstone, I enjoy being there a lot more now.

While I'm in Tombstone, I might also visit Bisbee, Arizona, which is only about 25 miles away, and take care of some business there. Bisbee is also a tourist town with lots of interesting sights to see. After that, I'm not sure. I guess it depends on how much time I spend in Tombstone. I used to know people in town, but I don't anymore, so there's not much left for me to do there except check on my property, visit a few tourist traps, and snap a few pictures. I doubt if that will last me until the 27th, but I never know until I get someplace what's going to interest me.

The dressage people look a bit more relaxed (except for the last one) than when they're all perched up on the horses. I do like the back-lit barn photo.
Bizness in Bisbee? You are a mysterious person. Hope you have time to take a few photos. I haven't seen it in lo these many years. (Try 40.)

Thank you, Judith. I'm trying to pay more attention to the light in my pictures which usually means more pictures early in the morning and late in the afternoon, even though those times require more effort on my part. And my inherent laziness makes it difficult to put forth any more effort than absolutely necessary.

There is nothing mysterious about my connections to Bisbee. I own a couple of pieces of property in Tombstone, Tombstone is in Cochise County, and Bisbee is the county seat of Cochise County. So I go there every once in a while to deal with any property tax problems or any new rules or regulations that may affect my land.

If I go there, I will take some pictures, but Bisbee has become quite the tourist town, and being there is somewhat expensive.

Juniper Flats above Bisbee would be an interesting place to disperse camp with your truck camper. The road up is steep but there are lots of flat spots on top, where we saw other truck campers, vans and small trailers.

Thanks for that information on Juniper Flats John, I've driven past the road, but I've never been up on the hill. That does sound like a good place to boondock now that I have the bronco because I never would've considered going up there towing the Arctic Fox.
