Roger I believe you're asking me how do I know how many amps that I'm using every day and how many amps are being put back in by the solar panels ? Knowing how many amps you have used from your batteries and how many amps are being put back in is critical if you're going to enjoy your Boondocking experience and maximize your time living unplugged. And the best way to do that is with a gadget like this. This acts like a fuel gauge for your batteries letting you know in real time how much is going in or how much is coming out.
A long time ago I tried keeping up with my battery usage by checking the batteries voltage and using educated guesses needless to say that didn't work. This battery system monitor takes all the guesswork out of knowing what's going on with your batteries and your solar panels and makes Boondocking a whole lot easier.

I also have a 27-5L and am enjoying your blogs and improvements. Having had 2 defective vanity sinks, one replaced by the factory, one on my own nickel (Northwood is becoming cheap), I also replaced the faucet with single lever. The recliner and couch both are junk, too small, and I hope to sell them and replace with stress less euro chairs.

Thanks for the excellent answers. The pictures are very helpful. Did you install the gadget in the front compartment?
