![]() If this church looks unfinished its because it is. The towers on the left and the right were supposed be way taller than this but the church suffered the same problem a lot of churches had back in the day which was a lack of Dinero. If you remember the old mission in Tucson I visited only had one finished tower, and the same thing happened here. The pesos stopped rolling in so the workers packed up their tools and left. This church was built on a Catholic church that was built in the early 1700s, and that church was built on the ruins of a church destroyed by the Indian revolt in 1680. I'm beginning to see a pattern here. ![]() A graveyard beside the church. There was a lot more to see at this church, and I wish I had more time to spend wandering around the church grounds, but it was a long day and my feet were hurting, So even though it was very interesting there was enough left unseen to warrant another trip to Santa Fe in the future.
