Technically we live in tornado territory but we are in a bubble where tornados tend to turn north or south of us. We rarely even take shelter anymore. We have done if radar says it's getting closer to us than usual but we've never even had a hit closer than several miles away. We have had hail but even that only caused damage one time.

It's good to know you're in a fairly safe place, everyplace has something wrong that can cause trouble. Denver was built at the foot of the mountains so it's partly in the foothills and partly in the plains. The foothills brings lots of snow, and the plains can bring tornadoes. I've been through hurricanes, typhoons, earthquakes, and blizzards... But nothing scares me like a tornado.
