not Having any pictures to put on my blog today I went walking around the yard looking for subjects that would stand still long enough for me to take its picture, and the only volunteers I got were bugs
I worked on the vent fan a little this morning. but I'm still trying to get the old one off the roof. For some reason, where the screws are that are holding it down Is not readily apparent. Normally the edge of the vent and the screws that hold it are obvious and easy to get to, but on this vent the whole area where it attaches to the roof is smooth, without any sign of the edge of the vent or where the screws are that hold it down visible ... Removing the old vent is taking much longer than I had anticipated....but so does everything else I do.
Not having any pictures available to put in my blog, I have to resort to taking pictures of bugs to have a few photos I can post, so I hope no one is going to be disgusted by close-up images of creepy crawly critters.
I know what I did wrong because I make the same mistake every summer while staying in my daughter's driveway. I will go someplace and get what I believe are interesting pictures, but then I will put a whole bunch of photos on my blog every day and use up my mini-vacation pictures in a couple of days instead of doing what I should do, which is put three or four shots on my blog every day so my travel pictures will last for a while.
Another picture problem I have is that some bloggers will take three or four pictures of basically the same thing from a slightly different angle and then show four pictures of the same thing. I don't normally do that; I try to make each image different, with a different subject or from a completely different direction. But I would have many more pictures to show if I took several pictures of the same subject as many folks do.
I try to make my blog, as I do everything in my life, as simple and as easy on myself as possible, so I don't make any blog rules for myself to follow, figuring that the easier I make it on myself, the more likely I am to write it every day. This is why my blog can often ramble on incoherently since I'm making up what I say as I go... See what I said there? ..... I just made that up.
If I had to think of what I'm going to say in my blog ahead of time, or worse yet, write an outline of what I will say in my blog, I would find excuses every day on why I shouldn't write my blog. But by keeping my blog rule free and writing whatever and whenever I want, with no concern about how much or how little I write, it makes writing this blog not only simple and easy on myself but a lot of the time actually enjoyable for me, not for you.....For me
A grasshopper munching away on a leaf.
This is the absolute worst bug you can have in the yard. This Japanese beetle eats just about every form of vegetation, but specializes in roses. There's no natural enemies, they're hard to kill, and by the end of summer they have decimated the rose bushes.
This quarter inch long spider is spinning a web inside of a rose blossom, figuring that rose blossoms attract a lot of bugs so the spider will have plenty to eat. And thanks to the spider the Rose may be saved from tiny predators that eat the Rose.
by the length of this spiders front legs it looks like he reaches out and grabs his prey.
