The elementary school about half a mile from the house that the grands go to. School hasn't started here yet, I think it starts sometime next week. It's a pretty place and well taken care of, you can see the foothills in the background.
I ordered a small stool from Amazon to help me get up into the Lance's bed. It's only about 9 inches tall and will sit on the floor right in front of the overly tall step I normally use to get into the bed. I can get into the bed that way, but it's a lot easier and maybe even a bit safer if I get in a hurry to have a gradual step that the stool provides.
And speaking of an Amazon stool, I ordered it at about 11 a.m. and got it at about 2 p.m. the same day. The technology that allows that to happen is truly amazing. It may have taken me that long to run around town trying to find exactly what I needed, probably cost more, and may have burned up five dollars worth of fuel to locate one. Living in a city big enough to have an Amazon warehouse nearby is the key to having it work that well; who knows, maybe in the future, even small towns will have a hub where an Amazon warehouse is located.
It's incredible that we have people who can think that big. Before Amazon came along, what normal person would think to themselves; I'm going to start a business that sells just about everything a normal person wants to buy, and deliver it to any address in the country in two days or less? Who in the world thinks like that? I sure don't. But folks like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk certainly do. Some people change the world, and some people can't even keep up with their car keys.
Took the grands to the playground at the school, and let them run off some energy.
Usually young kids have to run rampant for at least an hour or two to get rid of some of the energy they have.
They sleep better at night if they haven't spent the entire day being told to sit down and be quiet.
I raised kids using the basic premise of "let kids be kids."
The new step-stool in the Lance, of which I spoke, that allows easier access to the bed.
It's hard to tell from this picture but I removed the round table that I used on my last mini-vacation, and replaced it with the rectangular factory table you can barely see on your right. The round table was okay but I found it a little too small to hold my 17 inch laptop, all the accessories I hang on the computer, and a cup of coffee.
