I walked over to the beach yesterday afternoon when it had mostly stopped raining and the wind had died down some just to take a picture of the waves. The waves were coming in pretty good but oddly enough I didn't see any surfers out there, but there were four or five fishermen freezing on the pier.
The other day I wrote about why I don't boondock on the beach and this pictures a good example of what I was talking about. Not being from here I don't know how much of this water encroachment on the beach is caused by high tide, or the front that came through, but as you can see there's not much dry beach left, and remember not all of the beach is drivable. So if you're boondocked there other people are going to be driving by you hardly more than an arms length away which to me isn't safe. It also shows that if you're not from here and don't know where the good areas are to boondock you'd better pay very close attention to the weather and the tides, particularly spring tides which have nothing to do with spring, but are higher than normal tides.
