Springtime in the Rockies

There was a perfect double rainbow over my campers yesterday afternoon and I took it as a good omen that all my RV problems will be over, the little bronco will quickly sell, I will finally be able to figure out my electrical problems with the lance, and life will be rainbows from here on out.

 It was a little chilly this morning, about 65°, and the high for tomorrow is supposed to be in the high 60s and rainy. It snowed 8 inches when I got here last month; it's been 90° for the previous week or so, and tomorrow it will be raining with a high temperature in the 60s. Folks that know Colorado will say.... "Welcome to springtime in the rockies."

When the Lance was dropped off in my daughter's driveway, it came with regular incandescent light bulbs in the taillights. But since one of the tail light bulbs was burned out, I ordered some LED taillights and removed all the incandescent light bulbs replacing them with the LEDs. Once in a while, I would get one of the LED light bulbs to come on, and they were incredibly bright.

But yesterday, while researching why I can't get the lights to work in the Lance, a professional repair person said that sometimes LEDs don't want to work in taillights in less some other electronic gadget is added to the circuit, a resistor or something like that. And the reason is that the LEDs draw such a tiny amount of power that the truck may not recognize it as a light-bulb and not turn it on or something to that effect. As I've mentioned before, my understanding of electrical stuff is extremely limited, but I decided that while trying to get the umbilical cord from the truck to the Lance to work, I put all the incandescent bulbs back in the taillights just to be sure.

Planning is already underway for a Fourth of July party at my daughter's house. There will be people, I'm not sure how many, and there will be fireworks, probably a lot, since the entire neighborhood will be shooting off fireworks. There will also be barbecue on the grill, which is mandatory for the 4th of July.

I plan on doing what I usually do for any holiday no matter where I'm at, which is hunker down, and avoid the crowds. I will probably briefly de-hunker myself while I sneak over to the grill and abscond with a few morsels of barbecue. And I will try in vain to get a few fireworks snapshots, although getting a good fireworks picture is just a matter of luck for me. And then I will crawl back into the Arctic Fox, and hide under the bed while I listen to burning fireworks particles rain down on my rubber roof.
