Still trying to get my pictures to look better on the Internet. Please don't suggest a new photographer, I've heard it already.

There was a "knock your socks off" sunset here at the fairgrounds last night. It wasn't one of the wall-to-wall monsters that you get in the desert sometimes, but the colors were eye-popping to say the least, and to say that this picture did not capture the real beauty of this sunset would be an incredible understatement.

A beautiful day today, and the weekend is predicted to be warm and sunny also.

I hope my experimenting with the way I put the pictures on my blog is working out for everyone. What I'm trying to do is have the highest quality picture possible, within the limits of the Internet, without my blog being so overloaded with megabytes that it takes forever to load.

Accomplishing that is quite a balancing act and for me requires that I put the blog page that I'm working on onto the Internet before I can see what changes I've made and if they're working or not. It's kind of like trying on clothes in public to see what you want to wear that day.

And since Google tells me that half the people viewing my blog are viewing it on a cell phone, I have to check not only my computer but my cell phone to see how everything looks.

I think what made me get interested in this better image quality thing again is I went for a walk in the mountains outside of Tucson the other day, when I got home and put pictures of a bunch of Cactus on my 17 inch laptop I could zoom into a picture and literally count the needles on a Saguaro, when I put that same picture on my blog I could barely count the arms on the saguaro, it looked terrible.

I think over time I hadn't been paying attention and the algorithms that Weebly, the company that hosts my blog, had changed but the way I resized my pictures for the Internet hadn't. So now the pictures are looking a little better than they did before and hopefully not putting a big load on your system so everything will load quickly.

This big rig horse trailer has a whole bunch of calf roping dummies laying on top, he must be selling the things to the kids that compete in the various roping events.

The Fairgrounds rodeo arena had a good idea that I don't think I've ever seen before. By coloring the chutes that the bucking horses and the bulls come out of instead of just numbering them like in most places, the announcer can tell the spectators that the next competitor is coming out of the blue chute so everyone including us picture snappers know what to focus on.
