It's been another hot day today and it looks like were going to be in for more thunderstorms tonight. So with the heat and the thunderstorms there's now flood warnings out because all of that causes the snow in the high country to melt faster than the rivers can handle it. The nearest river to Haggard's RV Park is the Arkansas which flows through Canyon city, Florence, and then Pueblo, but it's about 2 1/2 miles from where I'm camped so I think I will stay dry.
What worries me the most about the storms is the possibility of tornadoes, those things scare me more than any other weather phenomenon. And of course we all know the worst place to be is in a trailer. It seems like a tornado will go out of its way to center punch an RV park. The other thing I've been worried about is hail. Hail is real common around here but mostly it's small and doesn't do much damage, but I worry a lot about what bigger hail would do to the Arctic Fox and especially the solar panels.
I sure need to get up in the mountains where these things are less of a problem. We do have tornadoes and hailstorms in the high country but they're far more rare than down here in the flatlands.
