Surf's up ! ! And so is my cholesterol

And yet another day of cloudy, rainy, and chilly weather, I'm beginning to wonder why the Spring Breakers come to Padre Island at all.

I finally got that plate of real Gulf of Mexico fried shrimp that I have been looking forward to, and it did taste good. I also got a glass of sweet tea without having to ask if they have sweet tea. The big disappointment was they didn't have any hush puppies so I had to get onion rings instead. That was okay because I do love onion rings, but I really did have my heart set on some real hush puppies. But the restaurant that I went to on the fishing pier was not like a real restaurant, it was more of a bar that served some food so I can't fault them for not having every kind of food..... Deep-fried shrimp, and deep-fried onion rings, I would hate to see what my cholesterol is doing at the moment.

Even though it was a cloudy dreary day there were a couple of surfers in the water this morning. And as I was taking a few snapshots of them, I couldn't help but wish I was out there in the water with them, catching a gnarly wave, hanging 10, and riding it to the beach. But unfortunately I didn't have a bathing suit, or a surfboard, or the ability to surf, and the water was kind of chilly, and I'm pretty sure there were sharks in the water .... so I just stayed on the pier.
