I went to the Deming museum this morning and it was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Instead of a tiny little building like a lot of small-town museums are this one is in the old National Guard Armory which as you can see is a quite large and substantial building.
The building is broken into a dozen or more rooms with each room having a theme like, cowboy stuff, dolls, paintings, cars. And most of it having a relationship to this general area.
They told me that everything in the museum is donated and all the employees are volunteers. Which is probably the only way that a small town like Deming can have Museum as big as this one is. I stayed in the museum for a couple of hours and still didn't get to the second floor where there's even more stuff, so I think I'll be going back again before I leave town.
Here are a few pictures I took, I'll be putting up some more for the next few days
