The day after Christmas

There's not much to do the day after Christmas... Except clicking the pics.

Bluewater hotel casino. I sure wish the sun would come about 10 o'clock in the morning so I wouldn't have to get up so early.... And walk so far.

I decided to hang around the Bluewater casino one more night to take some pictures that I missed, and then after getting a few things at the Walmart in Parker, I'll head to Quartzsite In the morning.

I have noticed that instead of staying in one place for very long, I'm changing my locations much more frequently. Of course, I didn't set out to do this; it just seemed to happen, and I think it could be because moving from one place to another is now so easy and stress-free without the hassle of dragging a trailer along behind me that I'm more inclined to pack up and move without a real reason other than I feel like it at the moment like I did after visiting the London Bridge yesterday.

It's hard to explain, but changing boondocking spots in the Arctic Fox was more of a project that took time and planning. Whereas with the Lance, it's literally five minutes from when I decide to leave my current boondocking site to driving away.

And if I happen to be at the grocery store when I decide to move to a new boondocking site, I don't have to go back to where the Arctic Fox is and hook up and pack up. Instead, I just drive out of the grocery store parking lot with the Lance on my back like a turtle, and find a new place to stay.

I'm enjoying my newfound freedom of stress-free travel. Not to mention the total lack of worry and anxiety about leaving the Arctic Fox sitting out in the desert all alone while I go somewhere. Having my home and all my possessions with me wherever I travel has been a great feeling and has removed so much dread and pressure from my life that I'm forced to find new things to worry about.

But I'm pretty sure that once I get over the initial thrill of travel freedom, I'll start settling down and staying places for more than a few days.... But if I don't, that's okay to. There's all kinds of different ways of being a full-timer but the only right one is the one that makes you happy

Theboondork

The boondocking Lance before sunup as I start my long walk around the casino to the river. The casino parking lot lights are pretty bright, but since I boondock in parking lots every now and then I have insulated blackout drapes on all my Windows, and insulated covers over both of my vent-fans, so I sleep like a baby.

Colorado River mountains.

A rare Mexican hog-nosed bull-whacker bird, having a grasshopper for Christmas dinner... The very same grasshopper, I might add, that I was going to have for my Christmas dinner.

River Edge Cantina. It's 7:30 AM and I don't know why they're not open yet. I can't be the only one that likes a bottle of tequila poured over my Rice Krispies for breakfast.... Milk is for babies.

Even more Colorado River mountains

This exceedingly rare White Tailed Colorado River Puffin is normally found inside the Arctic Circle, but due to global warming the Arctic Circle has turned into a triangle so the few remaining Puffins rode the Arctic Express all the way to Arizona.

This precious little Puffin noticed my camera sitting on the dock, grabbed the camera strap, and is dragging my camera down the river. Isn't he cute? Oh well, I'm sure I can save up enough money for another camera... In about 50 years. Meanwhile I'll be drawing pictures for my blog.
