The first step is making a checklist

"Another day, another dollar," except I didn't make a dollar, so I guess it's just another day.

I've started writing a checklist of things I need to take out of the Arctic Fox and put into the bronco, and so far, all I've written is "bronco checklist." And it's not that I can't think of things to put in the bronco; it's because I can't think of anything that DOESN'T need to be moved to the bronco.

It seems like everything in the Arctic Fox is something I need, will need, might need, or could possibly need some time in the future.... Under certain circumstances. This isn't at all like moving out of my non-mobile home where I had a pretty good idea my new full-time RV lifestyle was probably not going to require me to have five pipe wrenches and six or eight hammers; I can see this is going to be a lot more difficult than that.

So I believe in making this work, I'm going to have to trick myself into thinking I'm just taking an extended vacation, and I don't have to take everything in the Arctic Fox with me, just enough to live for a few months in the bronco. Tricking myself is easier than it sounds because I've already forgotten that I'm planning on tricking myself.

But even doing that, I'm going to have to be absolutely ruthless in what I'm going to be able to take with me seeing as how the bronco doesn't even have as much storage room as the Arctic Fox's bathroom, and I mean that literally.

My biggest problem is going to be tools. Since I enjoy fixing things, customizing things, and making things "better," even though the term "better" is highly questionable, I could fill-up the bronco with tools alone. But what can I do? I work on electrical things, plumbing things, carpentry things, and mechanical things. So I need tools for all of those disciplines, especially for something built as shoddy as the bronco, which always seems to have some kind of a problem going on.

Oh, how I envy the person with one small tool bag. But to me, tools are like guns... You never have enough, and you never know when you'll need one.
