If I traveled by myself I would definitely consider a hard sided truck camper. There is no way I could get the wife to by off. You have made some compelling points on your decisions to down size. I guess your next consideration is the weight specifications on your truck and what camper and accessories will be compatible.

A nice lightly used Lance slide in would probably fill the bill for you. You could put a lot of solar panels on the top which would help with your electricity needs. You might also look at some of the newer laptops that use a lot less juice that the older ones. I had a Lance for years, and it was almost perfect. With electric jacks, it was even an easy off and on.

Thank you for that KennyD. I have indeed looked at Lance campers they make several models that are light enough to work on my three-quarter ton truck. And I think Lance is one of the most popular slide-in campers that I see on the road. And if I get a used one it would more than likely be a Lance because they're simply more of them around.

Thank you for that Larry, as is sometimes the case you have given me fodder for tomorrow's blog post. And no I don't mind answering questions about much of anything, particularly when it comes to RVing.
