The last horse event of my Fairgrounds stay

I re-upped for another week at the Fairgrounds, this should be my last one, which means in seven more days I will be but a memory, an almost homeless bum that spends weeks living in a dirt parking lot all alone, and when there's a bunch of horse people in town he has to share the dirt parking lot with dozens of horse trailers and the horses they carry.

It appears that there's one more horse event which I think is going to start on the 28th and I'm not exactly sure what it's going to be. I know there's going to be barrel racing but other than that I'm in the dark. I know It's not a rodeo, but some kind of club, and what that means I have no idea. But its supposed to be a big deal with at least 400 contestants, so it sounds like for three days there will be life, fun and excitement back at the Pima County Fairgrounds.

There's supposed to be some racing at the drag-strip just down the road this weekend, so if I can work up the ambition I may go over there and watch what's going on.

And if that proves too be to much excitement for me, there's also something called a Quilt Fiesta here at the fairgrounds this weekend, which apparently involves a bunch of quilts. Even though looking at quilts is not anywhere near the top of my list of things to do, it does sound like it might be colorful, and maybe even enlightening. And since the event building is right across the street from a horse arena, I might just drop in for no other reason than propinquity.

That could be, I've seen a lot of uncovered horses running around here, and as pampered as these horses are I imagine some of them do have quilts and maybe even electric blankets. I know they live in a lot nicer trailers than I do.

More fine portraits! And well, yes, propinquity has probably led to a lot of interesting experiences. Actually, I think I have never typed the word propinquity before.
I think you should definitely drop by the quilt show.

Thank you Judith. Yeah, propinquity doesn't come up very often in a conversation but in this instance, the "Quilt Fiesta" is in a large event building that is literally right across the street from the horse arena where they're going to be barrel racing in a day or two. So not dropping by there wouldn't make much sense for me since I'm always looking for a picture to take.

And speaking of which, I was walking by that event building later this afternoon and they were already moving in tables and displays so it looks like they're really is going to be a Quilt Fiesta there, and I'm up for anything with Fiesta in the name.

I've seen some beautiful quilts and some really ugly ones. I hope most of the ones you see are the first type.

I hope so too Linda, I figure anyone showing their quilts at a quilt show would make sure it was their best effort. But you never can tell, maybe a quilt that looks like a herd of cats through up on it, WAS their best effort.
