Lots of colorful outfits. Did they have fry bread? Tasty stuff.

CONGRATULATIONS!! Your now laying the bricks on the road to freedom. You're also now in a fairly exclusive club of Arctic Fox owners where you will often be the only one around with an Arctic Fox.

Thanks Tom! This was my one last "Think, Soul Search, and Agonize Weekend" to get it all out of my system. I don't know that it's all gone, but there is much less to worry about now. Well, I still have to decide on when to leave.

Some things can be left behind when you drive away from what used to be your home for the last time, but other things will be brought with you tucked so deep inside your mind you'll hardly realize they're coming along for the ride. But with the proper attitude and little bit of time these annoying bits and pieces of a time gone by will slowly be tossed away, sometimes as your driving down a mountain road, or maybe while you're sitting under your awning looking out over that lake, these thoughts of what could go wrong, or why am I doing this instead of something else will slowly get left by the wayside, because as you get a taste of real freedom it will be habit-forming and you won't want anything getting in the way of living the life that you want.

IF it isn't Duramax it is just an imitation truck.

Yeah I feel the same way Barney and Duramaxs are the only diesels I've ever owned. But I have to say that Dodge Rams with the Cummins diesel is mostly what I see pulling large trailers. I don't know if their any better or any worse but they do seem to be popular.

I've decided I get my agonizing and trepidation honestly. I told my Dad tonight about this and he basically thinks I'm making a big mistake (we've talked about this before, so it's not a complete surprise to him). Keep in mind, he worked until he was 80 and would still be working if he could. The concept of freedom and exploration are really foreign to him and he just can't understand why anyone would want to do this and thinks I'll be bored (if I'm bored, it's my own fault) and regret it. Oh well, many of the really good things in my life have been things that others didn't understand.

My dad was kind of like that, he was a depression era guy that always felt like you were lucky to have a job and if you have one you better not leave. But fortunately that attitude was not passed on to me.

My Dad was raised in the rural south, so money was always an issue when he was a kid. I think that's where it comes from.

I can't wait to see your blog, you should have plenty to write about with all the changes and preparations going on in your life that will be interesting and useful for others anticipating their transition into full timing.

Thanks Tom - I'm looking forward to working on my blog. I've done work with Wordpress in the past and had learned quite a bit about how to use it (technically, I still have a blog out in the blogsphere). Now, I'll have to relearn a lot of stuff, but I don't remember any of it being that difficult. I might go ahead and start writing now while this is all fresh in my mind, but won't start posting until a little later.

That's what I did, I wrote down notes every day while I was in the process of selling the house and getting rid of all of my precious stuff, none of which I miss, and then posted it all on my blog when I got around to it.

A "Mission Statement" is a great place to start. My blog was (or is) geared toward nature photographing, which worked great, but I found without traveling, it was getting hard to think of new things to photograph and discuss. So, after a few years, I just stopped adding anything. I actually enjoyed the website design and organization part of the process. If you want to check it out, it's here: www.naturephotojournal.com. I haven't added anything to it in over 4 years now (wow, time has really flown).

I glanced at your blog and you take some really good pictures, I'm impressed with anybody that can take a picture of a bird, I just don't have the patience.

Yes, I agree that the blog I have is probably way too narrow for the future life style. I need to give it some thought to figure out the direction I want to go with a blog. I'll have to brain storm and decide if I want to focus on the RV and travels, photography, nature, or some other yet unidentified topic. Since I have to be working at least 30 hours a week, I may focus on a couple of topics. However, it's amazing how much time one blog can take up and it can be difficult to thing of thinks to discuss. I'll let it percolate around in my brain for awhile (with all this percolating, no wonder I have so few remaining brain cells).

I think your eons ahead of most RVers including myself on setting up websites and creating a blog. From just a cursory glance I think your old blog is far more polished than most people's blogs especially us RVers because I think we tend to be older and less computer literate than most other bloggers.

About a year ago, I spent quite a bit of time going though some online courses through Linda.com on video editing. I learned a lot, but it's a whole new ballgame from photography. I played around and did a few videos, but I have mixed emotions about it. I think a lot of these YouTube stars lose their anonymity and become minor celebrities - I'm not sure if I'm up for that and being recognized everywhere I go (and having a lot of haters, I'm sure). Bill Murray said something like this: "For anyone who wants fame and fortune, they should try fortune first and see if that doesn't do it for them". But having said that, it is a possibility.

I think a lot of people seek out celebrity status and the success of YouTube is a testament to that. I personally would find it a curse because no matter how innocuous your videos, or blogs for that matter, are your going to step on somebody's toe and there's just enough nutty people out there that it could become a problem.
