The weather's been cloudy so the sunrises are more interesting

It was chilly this morning, so I had to wear a coat as I walked around the VFW boondocking area looking for a picture to take. I finally ended up climbing a little hill to get an overall view of the boondocking area during sunrise.

The temperature wasn't all that chilly, probably in the low 60s, but because of all the cloudy weather, Yuma has had the humidity way up there in the 50 or 60% range, so even 60° feels cold. I remember being in Lake Havasu a week or two ago when the temperature was in the high 50s, low 60s, the humidity was in the teens, and I was wearing a T-shirt.

It will probably be long-sleeve shirt weather when I get to Tucson in a few days. There's going to be a lot of cloudy weather, which means high humidity, and the altitude there is about 2500 feet, which will probably be chilly compared to the 200 feet altitude in Yuma.

The rodeo events in Tucson start on January 13, and the rodeo is why I'm heading there right now. And even though I'm looking forward to the rodeo, I don't have any concerns or stress about getting there, and that's apparently because I don't have any reservations that keep me to a schedule.

Just like I mentioned in a previous blog post, it's looking more and more like reservations are causing me stress, not just the concern of getting there. I know that sounds weird because almost everybody else likes to have reservations, but for some reason, I don't.

I wouldn't say I like appointments either. And maybe it's because reservations and appointments are very similar; they both force you to be at a certain place at a certain time; I can understand why I don't like appointments because a lot of appointments I've had in my life were usually something I knew wasn't going to be pleasant. Such as Doctor appointments, who looks forward to those? And especially appointments with my accountant and various attorneys. And precious few of those "appointments," would you find me with a smile on my face while arriving or leaving?

So appointments were usually for things I didn't enjoy, but reservations are often for something I do enjoy, yet reservations still bother me.. Oh well! I'll probably never figure it out; I'll just have to do my best to keep my appointments and reservations to the bare minimum.

I still find it hard to believe people want to boondock in a crowd of RVs like this. I always thought boondocking was to get away from RV Park crowds like this.

My boondocking spot is in those trees off to the right. Some of the larger RVs have trouble getting over there due to sharp turns and a few patches of loose sand; but the sand is easy to avoid, and I have four-wheel-drive just in case.

There's also a thick line of bushes between the area I'm at and the main boondocking area, which helps keep down the noise from the generators, and barking dogs in the main area.

And it's those things that help make my stay here more peaceful and comfortable than it would be if I had to be awning to awning with a neighbor.
