Hope you find a spot that's just right. I love the desert, but even here, not in the desert, I'm getting weary of drought. Around here, fires come with it. Rainy years are fewer. I checked, and looks like Elephant Butte is about the same level it was last year....so the Rio Grande is still contributing.

Yes it is, but its not contributing much. Between the never-ending drought, and more irrigation there is not much water making it to the Gulf of Mexico.

We had a little more snow in Minnesota this winter than we've had the last couple of years but still not enough to offset the drought here. I choose to not go look at the lakes int he city. Our ponds are doing OK but with all the new lawns uphill the ponds are now green. Why do people insist on doing that damage?

We have the same problems in the West but our problems are more difficult to deal with because of the lack of water.
