they call the wind Mariah. I call it something else.

The wind was kicking up some whitecaps on Storrie Lake. it's not all that cold, but I had to wear a coat because of the wind.

I was woken at 6 o'clock this morning by the wind blowing so hard it was shaking the Arctic Fox and I kicked myself for not putting down my rear stabilizer jacks. I don't normally put my rear stabilizer jacks down because I usually don't feel a need for them in less it's really windy, or the wind is coming from a direction that shakes the trailer such as from the side.

It's been windy the last few days but it was hitting the Arctic Fox pretty much head on so little or no movement could be felt inside, but this morning the wind changed around and started hitting the side of the trailer and it was moving enough to wake me up.

But what didn't wake me up was sometime during the night one of the two heavy galvanized garbage cans that the park provides, sitting about 20 feet from my door, blew over and rolled around in the gravel, and the lid blew off the other one, none of which woke me up. I guess that shows that either I'm a very sound sleeper, or my hearing is worse than I thought.

These gusty winds I'm dealing with is not only the reason I'm still sitting here instead of heading South, but they're really making getting out and doing something difficult and not much fun. Normally I would've gone into town on a Sunday morning when there's hardly anyone running around and taken some pictures of the old buildings, but the high winds have kept me mostly inside.

I'm planning on leaving tomorrow morning, at least I hope so, the winds are supposed to lay down a bit but are still supposed to be blowing about 20 miles an hour. But I need to get out of here because their still predicting snow for Thursday and Friday and I didn't drive all this way just to be sitting in snow again.

The surf was up on Storrie Lake and if the water hadn't been freezing cold, the wind blowing so hard, and I had a surfboard and knew how to surf, I would be out there hanging 10 right now.

Yesterday I showed a picture of this large fifth wheel with four solar panels sitting on the ground and I mentioned that could be a problem.... Well it was. With all the high winds we've been having I can't believe these folks went somewhere and left their panels sitting on the ground unsecured. I hope nothing broke
