These cars are gone in the blink of an eye, so click pics quick.
Don't worry, my catlike agility allows me to jump out of the way just in time..... Usually.
I made an appointment for next Tuesday to get my eyes checked, so once I get some new glasses, I'll be in good shape to get my driver's license renewed in September. Like I mentioned before, the DMV is not even going to check my eyes; I just have to have the receipt from the eye doctor that they've been checked, and everything else is going to be done over the Internet so once I get my eye doctors exam done, I'm home free.
It's been pretty hot since I got back to Denver, mostly in the low 90s for the high, but the nights are still comfortable in the 60s. I got used to that real chilly weather at night up in the high country, and I liked it.
I haven't made any plans for another trip up into the mountains yet, and that's pretty normal. Other than the Hill Climb race, which has a specific time for me to be there, any other trip I decide to make will probably be made at the last minute whenever the mood hits me.
I'm still inclined to try and spend some time in the little Bronco this winter. But, although this five-day trip to the races made me feel a lot better about living with the refrigerator in the little Bronco, it's going to take a lot more travel time to convince me I can live in something this small.
And I'm not even sure that staying in the little Bronco for a week here and a week there is going to prove anything. I think all it may be doing so far is emphasizing the things I need to fix to make it more livable. Still, without actually staying in it for an extended period of time, I don't think a few mini-vacations are preparing me for a full-time life in an RV the size of the little Bronco.
But I guess that's what this winter's travels would be for, if I could live in it for the winter maybe I could live in it forever, after all at my age... how long could that be?
One of the fastest cars on the mountain happens to be a truck.
The best places to watch the cars go by are on hairpin turns. Partially because the cars have to slow down, so it's easier to get a picture. On the short straightaways, they're going by so fast their either coming, or they're gone.
To me the cars are the most fun to watch, their slithering and sliding all over the place, and making more noise than the human ear can stand.
Pretty in pink slowing down after crossing the finish line.
Motocross riders tend do well at Hill climb, the major difference being if you go off the track here, it might take you a while to hit the ground.
Every time this girl saw me next to the track with the camera she would do something weird just to make me take her picture..... I have to admit, it worked.
