time is flying by and I've still got a lot to do

Unfortunately no matter how long you look at this Lily it won't move.

It's been a chilly rainy day today with a high of 40° which hasn't been good for doing things outside, and since today is the start of my last full week in Denver I have a lot of things I need to accomplish both inside and out.

Due partly to tradition but mostly to Laziness and procrastination, I put off doing most of my getting ready to travel stuff till the last week before I leave. Since I'm someone that doesn't like to do things until I'm in the mood, I'm usually not in the mood to get ready to leave until about the last week. I might do a few odds and ends before that, but if I've been sitting in one spot for a long time there's usually a lot to do before I can hitch up and go, so the majority of preparation is usually put off until the last week or the last minute.

There's actually not a whole lot of things that I absolutely positively have to do before I can leave. Most of the things I do are things that just make me feel better and put me in a traveling mood, like vacuuming the floors for instance. The floors don't have to be clean for me to head South, but vacuuming just makes me feel better. I also do odd things like recharge all of the AA and AAA batteries in the Arctic Fox, like the clocks, the thermometers and anything else that has rechargeable batteries in it will get charged up before I hit the road, there again it just makes me feel good.

And speaking of small batteries, before I went full-time I bought a bunch of Sanyo eneloop rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, which I believe are now branded Panasonic, and a high-quality charger that charges them without messing them up by charging them too quickly. These batteries can be recharged over 2000 times and are the only AA and AAA batteries that I own. I'm sure some of them have been recharged a dozen times and their still working great.

In a way I'm glad it's starting to get cold. Leaving my family is never easy especially since I've been here all summer. And since the chilly weather were having now is just a reminder of the cold snowy weather to come, it makes the leaving a little less painful.
