Time is getting short and there's much to do

A dirt road in the San Luis Valley meanders across the fields to a farmhouse on the left which has a beautiful view of the mountains partially obscured by clouds.

In some places a view like this would be a Park of some kind, but in Colorado it's just somebody's home.

Taking advantage of a short-lived rush of energy, I removed the bronco from the truck this morning and put my Andersen fifth wheel hitch back in the bed.

Everyone thought this was a sign that I would give up on wintering with the bronco and take the Arctic Fox instead. But all I'm doing is hitching up the Arctic Fox so I can take it to the nearby state Park, where I have reservations for Sunday, and drain and rinse out my black and gray water tanks in preparation for draining the water system and then filling it with antifreeze.

I've already bought 2 gallons of antifreeze that's good for 50 below zero, and that should be more than enough to do the Arctic Fox and the bronco. Since it's going to start getting down below freezing at night every once in a while now, I figure I'll get all the water out of the bronco before it gets too cold. In case I have to live in it while I'm still here, I can always use gallon jugs of water instead of the Broncos potable water system for my water supply.

When I get back from camping overnight at the State Park, then I will have to unhitch the Arctic Fox, remove the Andersen hitch from the bed of the truck, and put the bronco in the back of the truck again. All of that requires a lot of effort on my part when I'd rather be doing something more beneficial, such as relaxing.

But all that has to get done before I can head South, and there's nobody to do it but me. And even though I'm lazy, the thought of having to deal with snow motivates me enough to get it done as quickly as possible.

The kids are out of school today, some kind of a Fall break or something... It's like Spring Break but without all the fun. So we took the grandkids to the school so they could play on the playground for a while. I took this picture while standing in the playground of some of the houses that surround the school.
