It took over an hour to upload these two pictures, but it only takes a second to click them.
My view of Taylor Lake out the window of the Lance.

Don't see a lot of action from others in the two photos you have posted, so it looks idyllic. Yes....every older generation seems to find places spoiled by too many people, and that's been true for ever.....Not that it reconciles me to loss of space and quiet. Ah well. At least you are having cool air.

Since I have my home on my back, I consider everyplace I stop is home, even though some homes may be brief. But seeing as how I consider it home I try to pick the spots where I stay with some of the same considerations I would use for picking a normal home without wheels, which usually means I don't want to many neighbors to close by. And that's exactly the way I chose where I was going to live when I moved to Colorado. I didn't want a bunch of neighbors living close to me then, and since I haven't changed; I still don't want a bunch of neighbors living next door to me now.

I noticed how everything changes over the years. I don't like it either... But no one listens to me.

Well Bill, it looks like things are getting better for you because you now have someone that listens to you.... Me!

Yes.....The joys of becoming a Senior or a Boomer as the gen x like to call us. Change can be good or it can be bad. I try to look at the good of it but it can become frustrating. In my situation I've lost the freedom to just take off and find a state park where I can stop with no reservations. Currently the planning is months in advance and due to life a lot of trips get cancelled. When we are able to hit the road again I'm gonna focus on boondocking but it is hard with a 32 ft trailer and in Texas a need or AC!

Wise words Larry, wise words indeed, so there's really nothing I can add to that... And that's a very rare occurrence.

To me, tires on the highway are just white noise. Until a siren goes by.

Sirens going by has the same effect on me, it reminds me too much of living in Miami.... That and the wump, wump, wump, of police helicopters hovering nearby.
