Another day in the mid-90s, I'm beginning to grow weary of the heat. And I'm really looking forward to the Fall, when the temperatures around here are just about perfect.

Now that the Lance is starting to look like it could be lived in, at least temporarily, I'm really getting the urge to ditch this heat, and get up in the mountains. I might go out to my property near 11 mile reservoir, or maybe I'll go to Breckenridge, that's not far away, or possibly just go out into the national forest somewhere, anywhere as long as it's nine or ten thousand feet where the temperatures will be perfect.

Oddly enough, I don't have a reason for going to the mountains, I don't feel like fishing, and I don't feel like shooting, I barely feel like taking pictures, mostly I would just like to get out of the heat.

Come to think of it Tincup Colorado is a great place to go to beat the heat. It's a little over 10,000 feet, very scenic, plenty of boondocking, it's not too far away, and one of my favorite places in Colorado. That sure sounds like a good place to be right now.

good grief yes go to Tin Cup just to realize the air CAN be better. I'm so tired of 100 degrees everyday, I am trying to plan an escape. Probably won't though. They're saying this could last into September. I've seen it before. 2011. 100 days over 100. Might as well have lived in Phoenix. You are really a good kid photographer. But I remember your people photos from various events...and they were excellent too.

Thank you very much Judith, I enjoy taking pictures of people, especially the grandkids because their always nearby, and I'm lazy.

For me it's 90° days almost every day, but that's pretty warm when you don't use air conditioning, but I'm getting used to it. Still it would be nice to be in the mountains where the air is cooler and drier.

There are worse places to be than where you're at, and yes Phoenix would be one of them. I've been to Phoenix in the summer, and even though the humidity is low, once it gets to be over 110° its hot no matter what the humidity is.

My brother lives in Phoenix and I always wonder why. But, I suspect he wonders why I live in Minnesota. :)

Yeah living in Phoenix isn't for everyone, since the summer months are more than most folks can deal with. My daughter used to live in Phoenix so I've been there in the summer, and it definitely makes you wonder how the old-timers could survive there before air conditioning. But there's very few places that can beat it in the winter.
