tombstone Arizona for Christmas

I haven't taken any Tombstone pictures yet, except the Lance in It's latest boondocking spot. This is last nights sunset at Rockhound.

I headed out of the Rockhound State Park at about 8:30 this morning, stopped at the Walmart in Deming and picked up my Christmas dinner and other unaffordable foods I normally don't buy. Still, the holidays give me an excuse to spend more than I should on food that's fattening and not very good for me.

I pulled into Tombstone about lunchtime, found a boondocking spot at the boondocking RV Park two blocks from downtown Tombstone, and made myself at home.

The whole 200 miles from Rockhound to Tombstone was fairly cloudy, but it never rained. It just looked like it was going to. Since there wasn't any wind to speak of, and the land was relatively flat, I paid more attention to my fuel mileage, and going a steady 70 miles an hour on I -10, I averaged 15.7 miles per gallon when I got off the interstate and pulled into Benson.

There are only six or eight other RVs at the Boondocking RV Park. It doesn't seem like this would be where most normal RVers would want to spend the holidays, but I was curious if it would be almost empty, like it is, or packed with people this close to the holiday... Next time, I'll know.

I haven't walked into town yet; I decided to wait till tomorrow morning before I venture into the belly of the beast. I'm sure they'll have a lot of Christmas decorations, Christmas trees, and things like that for everyone to see, so there should be some easy pictures that take themselves.

I paid for seven days at the boondocking RV Park, and that was to get me through Christmas and give me enough time to figure out what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go after that. I can also pay for another week here and stay for New Year's if I want to, or I can go somewhere else. I'm thinking of going to one of my favorite places after Christmas, which is heading up the road to Whitewater Draw and visiting the Sandhill Cranes. Seeing the cranes has become one of the high points of my winter travels, which is saying a lot because my whole winter travel is a high point.

Lance camper happily, safely, and most of all temporarily boondocked in Tombstone for the Christmas holiday.

 While wandering around the boulders at the City of Rocks I made a discovery that's going to rock the scientific world and make a mockery of historians and anthropologists and their goofy theories about prehistory.

If you look in this giant boulder which is been carved out as a shelter. Down at the bottom of the shelter is a tiny house and it will prove my personal theory has always  been correct ....

 

This tiny home will prove once and for all, that cavemen, cavewomen, and cavekids were only 6 inches tall. If they were almost the size that we are now, could they live in this tiny little house they built? I think not. This house dates back to the land before time, back before Alley Oop, and the Flintstones, in 1 million years BC. Leaving no doubt our ancient ancestors were tiny.

And if our ancient ancestors were tiny doesn't that also mean that their hunting stories about killing and eating giant dinosaurs means the dinosaurs were only giant to THEM ! It looks like these dinosaurs they were scarfing down at dinner were nothing more than common lizards like iguanas, chameleons, and the Geico lizard.

Finally the world's top scientists will stop laughing at me and making poopy jokes about my theories.
