my new boondocking spot at the Trinidad Colorado Walmart. It's about 1 o'clock and already the RVs are starting to get off the Interstate. It looks like there's a lot of RVers heading North now.
I arrived safely in Trinidad Colorado and pulled into the Walmart parking lot for the night. And even though it's only in the 50s here, the sun's shining, there's pavement under my feet instead of mud, and the humidity is a far more tolerable 30%.
I filled up with diesel fuel at a truck stop across the highway from Walmart, so now I've got plenty of fuel to get to Denver. At $2.99/gallon fuel was a bit higher than in New Mexico, but this truck stop is always a little expensive, it's just very convenient.
I figure on staying at the Bass Pro Shop parking lot in Colorado Springs tomorrow night and then getting to Denver Monday morning.
I've got a couple things planned that I want to do while I'm in Denver and the first thing is I want to get some weight out of the Arctic Fox. I've been carrying around a lot of things that I haven't used yet and I figure it's time to find those things a new home or put them in storage. It's going to be painful but I'm determined to be ruthless..... As long as I don't really, really, want to keep it.
The other thing I want to do, and this is going to be rather time-consuming, I want to take a shoebox full of old family pictures and scan them into the computer with proper labels, and then everyone in the family can have a copy of all the pictures. I've got a feeling that it's going to be a lot easier said than done, and it would surprise me if my laziness and lack of ambition doesn't win out in the end.
These are three pictures I took what I got into Colorado this morning.
