Verizon MiFi report

you gotta love being in a place where you can get fresh orange juice in the Winter.

My Verizon MiFi has been working great, I turn it on in the morning when I get up, and I turn it off at night when I go to bed, so all day long I've got unlimited Internet available any time I need it.

It took a while to get over the fear of doing that because I was limited to 20 gigs of hotspot data for so long I was used to turning my phone hotspot on and off ten times a day just to keep from using up too much data, and either running out before the month was over or having a big bill for extra data that I had to buy.

So far the only downside I have found to this unlimited hotspot plan is that sometimes between four and six o'clock in the afternoon, which apparently is when data use is high, my speeds will slow down, sometimes considerably, and it might be slow for five or ten minutes at a time and then it will get back to normal speeds for a while before slowing down again. But normally by 6 o'clock or so I'm back to my normal fast speeds.  I knew this was supposed to happen, it's in the contract, I just didn't know when or how bad it would be. But so far it's just been an inconvenience and nowhere near a dealbreaker.

after a lot of thought I made up my mind today that I'm going to Congress tomorrow and boondock on the BLM land outside of town. And since my mind is made up that means there's a 50% chance that its going to happen.

I've also just realized that Christmas is right around the corner and I need to start thinking about where I would like to spend Christmas, I would like to spend it with my family but it's too cold there. So that leaves, Congress, Box Wash, Quartzite, or back to Ben Avery gun range. I guess that will give me something to think about while I'm relaxing

Today was a packing up day since I'm leaving tomorrow morning. It didn't require much packing up since I never really unpacked. I couldn't hitch up today because I have to take the truck to where it's going to be weighed first, then I have to come back, hitch up and take the trailer to be weighted. It sounds like it's going to be a busy morning so I spent plenty of time relaxing today so I'll be rested up for all the activities tomorrow.

The dreaded Teddybear Cholla, also known as jumping Cholla. Contrary to what you might think, it's not soft and huggable at all. It's actually the scourge of the desert and only the brave or the foolhardy go walking around it without a pair of needle nose pliers in their pocket to pull this thing off of whatever body part it happens to get attached to.
