I have to apologize for not posting very often but my Verizon phone only works sporadically at my location in the national forest. my Internet comes and goes because of this and is very frustrating because sometimes I can send the text to my website but the Internet doesn't have enough strength to send a picture.
All of this will change Wednesday because I'm moving to 11 mile State Park at 11 mile Reservoir. I've reserved a site at the state Park for a week, which I don't like to do because I like the freedom of being able to come and go when I want to, but in this case due to the popularity of Colorado's State Parks a reservation gives me a better chance of actually having a place to stay.
The last couple of days I've been staying busy putting the finishing touches on several projects that I started. The most important one was to put new taillights on the back of the motorcycle carrier rack because the motorcycle cover blocked the view of the trailer taillights. Another thing was to paint all the parts that were welded to the motorcycle carry rack before they got to badly rusted. Since it rained literally every afternoon since I've been here I did have to wire brush some rust but I finally finished painting it yesterday. I also took my 5th wheel trailer hitch apart and greased up some of its inner workings. The last time I tried to hitch up the trailer the hitch didn't want to lock up properly and I had to spray it with some WD-40 to get it to lock up at all. by taking it apart and greasing up some of the sliding parts I'm hoping it will hitch up like it's supposed to Wednesday when I leave.
It's been a quiet Fourth of July, half the people in the campground left already so even though today is the actual holiday it looks and sounds like a weekday around here, which is fine by me.
I think I'll go to town tomorrow and do some shopping because at 11 mile reservoir I'll be about 30 miles from a Walmart or a hardware store, and those seem to be the main stores where I spend my time lately. I'll be Boondocking while staying at 11 mile state Park. There's water available in the area, and there's a dumpsite on the way out, but there's no electricity in the area I'll be staying at. There's electricity available in other areas of the park but I'm going to cheap out and boondock.
When I first started Boondocking I used to look forward to being somewhere I could get electricity, but now I don't care if I'm hooked up to electricity or not. The only things I can't run in the Arctic Fox while Boondocking is the air conditioner and my toaster oven, so as long as I'm in a place that's not too hot I don't miss those 2 things at all.
