Just wondering if those big old trees are tamarisks. AKA "salt cedar" that robs cottonwoods of moisture in river bottoms. Or wherever they get a foot hold. I have mixed feelings about them....when they can get old and big they are so beautiful. But all those little saplings spell trouble for other types big trees. Just another import that didn't quite work as it was intended. But when they're old they are wonderful... SHADE!

I think they are tamarisk trees. I don't know much about them, but I figure anything that can survive in this desert has got to be pretty tough, with a strong will to live and a survival method that works.

When parked at Walmart overnight I parked in the back 40 and used my TravelScoot to get to and from the store. I could only carry two bags of groceries and a 12-pack of soft drinks on the Scoot so I'd go in during the evening to buy some groceries and go again in the morning before departure to buy more.

Well that sounds handy. I too always park as far away from the store as I can, which is where most of the RVs are. And I do that even when I don't have an RV with me; it's one of my ways of exercising.

I wish I could walk that well. It's one of the things I forgot to maintain.
