This is another example of my post and my pictures being totally different subjects. But you can click the pics anyway.

With my my long acquaintance with short term camping in longer vans for many years in my early life, I believe I would tend heavily to lean to a van camper more than a slide in. I had a couple of the long wheelbase Dodge vans back in the 70s that I got along with rather well. And yes I am still trying to decide on what to replace my worn out old trailer with.

Well Barney, I don't know if it was information or not, looking back on it, it was more like I couldn't stop babbling.

Sometimes I am glad to be only 67 inches tall because I agree totally with you about needing to stand up in a van for comfort. Personally after talking with several folks, the Mercedes high top "van" is not a vehicle i would want to have on the road. I totally agree with wanting a "repair everywhere rig" for mine. And the search continues.

Cannot remember when I last saw or heard or read someone speak of a continental kit. They were the thing. Well, all those old guys were once cool (or wanted to be) and once had (or longed for) a continental kit. As I once was a girl (now an old woman), the continental kit was not on my list.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to you Judith, I just got back from the Halloween costume contest at the Hot Rod car show. [Pictures will follow.] I won first place as a absolutely disgusting homeless alcoholic bum, and all I was doing was standing around taking pictures of the event.

I saw that Linda, thanks for the link. If I already had a trustworthy four-wheel-drive van to convert to an RV I might consider it. But since I have a pickup I would have to start from scratch making a new home for myself. And even though I like to do things myself, and I did insulate, and carpet a van back in the day, I don't really have the tools, the working area, or the indomitable spirit of youth to carry me through a conversion project like that.

There are people on Escapees looking for rigs like yours and Barney's. I can't comment on Barney's blog right now because Blogger is not letting me do so. But, when you are both ready to sell you might want to list your Arctic Fox rigs on Escapee Marketplace. You do not need to be a member to participate. https://www.rvnetwork.com/forum/25-rvs-tows-and-toads-for-sale/

Thank you Linda, I had forgot about Escapees stuff for sale. I'll keep that in mind when the time comes to make that big, scary, decision.
