I rode the Yamaha WR450 up into the national forest this morning, parked it and did some hiking up in the hills. It was a beautiful morning with a lot of fluffy white clouds in the sky so I took some pictures.
I didn't do as much hiking as I had planned on because it appears that this area is being affected by plate tectonics and the hills are being pushed upwards to such a degree that they are far higher and steeper than they were when I was younger. At one time or another I have hiked up to the top of every hill you see in the pictures of my property but now due to the results of continental drift and the constant uplifting of the Rocky Mountains the hills have become too high for me to Summit without camping for a few nights on the way up. So it appears that I've lived so long that tiny hills have been pushed up into mountains and since that's the only logical explanation for my very brief hike this morning I have to assume that it will only get worse.

Interesting, we would have never guessed that plate tectonics could be act quickly enough in order to produce perceivable effects in a person's lifetime! Or were you joking about it? Anyway, interesting article and nice pics, thanks for posting them.

Well, I would say he's joking, but I'm noticing that the older I get, the taller the mountains are getting as well. So, I'm sure it must be the plate tectonics!
