There's a lot to consider when clicking a pic, do you feel well? Do you feel sick? Are you up to the task, or feeling weak? Do your muscles ache? Do your joints creak? are your eyes bad, can you barely see? How many times do you wake up to pee? Is your neck crooked and your back bent? Has your get up and go done got up and went? If you've got these problems it could be true that clicking the pics may be too tough for you.
Sunset mountains at the Elephant.
Well, here it is halfway through the Thanksgiving holiday, and there are less people here than on a normal weekend...Way less.
What happened to the crowds that I predicted; you got me! It was suggested that Thanksgiving is not a going to the State Park kind of holiday, and as I said, I've never been here on Thanksgiving before. But I've been here on Easter, and it was packed with people. And I never thought of Easter as a going-to-the-park kind of holiday; I thought Easter was a going to church on Easter Sunday and then hiding Easter eggs for the kids in the afternoon kind of holiday. Taking your boat to the Park and camping out didn't seem to have anything to do with an Easter holiday, but the Elephant was full of people for Easter.
Oh well, I'll know better next time. Meanwhile, I changed my boondocking spots to get a different view of life. And plenty of places are open for boondocking now, so I could change places every day if I wanted to.
Since I don't have to worry about losing my boondocking spot, I was thinking of going to Walmart today, but I changed my mind since there's a possibility of Black Friday still going on, and I don't want to get caught up in that mess. There's probably a huge sale on frozen turkeys, but I really don't like turkey, and I don't think a big butterball bird would fit in my refrigerator. And wherever I go Monday, City of Rocks State Park or Rock Hound State Park will have a Walmart fairly close buy so I can do my shopping then.
Not every sunrise at the Elephant looks like the sky is on fire, sometimes its just a plain ordinary sunrise like this.
Someone should tell these folks that their boat is not set up properly. The stern is too low in the water while up on plane. This could be caused by too much weight in the rear, or there outboard motor not set at the proper angle. It appears the boat is pushing the water instead of skimming across the top causing them to go slower and burn up a lot more fuel than necessary.
I moved to a new boondocking area this morning. I like to get a new view every once in a while. this area is lower, closer to the water, and closer to the Marina. It's only about a mile from my last location, but I have some woods to walk around in where I'm at now. And by the look of the trees I'm now in my third Fall, and since Fall is my favorite time of year... What could be better?
