What happened to the weather?

A big change in the weather today, I like the way it was before.

The weather sure took a turn for the worse, yesterday; it was warm, sunny, and I was wearing a T-shirt, and today it's chilly, rainy, and overcast. And it looks like that's going to continue, off and on, for about the next week. I guess Arizona will have to pay for all the beautiful weather we've had for the last month.

The rain kept me inside for most of the day, so I didn't get to do much of anything except take a picture of how bad the weather is. So it looks like today, to get a few pictures for my blog, I'll have to dig through my graveyard of past pictures that didn't make the cut the first time and give them a second chance at life.

I've been looking at the Arctic Fox's tires and considering they're only three or four years old and don't have a whole lot of miles on them, a couple of them don't look all that great. I've been suspicious for quite a while that somethings not right with my axles because if they're not aligned properly or maybe bent a tiny amount, they can cause your tires to wear fairly quickly. Some places specialize in adjusting your axles, but I've never run into one of those places, so maybe I should go looking for one.

But meanwhile, I need to do something about a couple of my tires because I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to trailer tires. And there is a Big O tire store here in Wickenburg, so I ought to cruise by and talk to them about tires. My experience has been many tire stores don't carry a bunch of trailer tires but can usually get them in 24 hours, especially if they're only 50 miles from a city as big as Phoenix. But a Wickenburg tire store might have them in stock because I see almost as many horse trailers being pulled around town as I do RVs.

They sell ostrich eggs at Rooster Cogburn's Ostrich Ranch for $25 apiece. These are  empty so someone has apparently made a really humongous omelette out of them. I believe they sell fertile ostrich eggs also, which you can sit on and hatch your own bird that you can ride around town. How cool would that be?

It seems like only yesterday I was chasing these birds around in the beginning of my winter travels. Much like these birds... My time is flying by.

Ball turrent on a World War II  B-17 bomber. The guy that set in this thing had the most dangerous job on the airplane.

This is a drawing of how the ball turrent gunner sat in the turrent, and they would sit like this for the entire mission which would be 8 to 10 hours. They were usually small guys because there wasn't much room in the turrent, sometimes not even enough room for him to wear his parachute. The B-17 wasn't pressurized so temperature inside the plane was the same as outside which at 30,000 feet where the plane flew was roughly 30 below zero . Only one out of three airmen in the eighth Air Force bomber group survived the war.
