If you click the pic you may get a surprise....... or you may not.
I saw a Swallowtail Butterfly flapping around the garden. Their not around very often, they don't stay long while there here. And they don't sit still for very long, so getting a decent picture of one is very frustrating. But they're big, beautiful, and worth the effort.
It's getting pretty hot in Denver, it's been in the low 90s lately and is supposed to be in the high 90s next week. And since I'm not plugged in at my daughter's house, I can't run my air conditioner. Of course, I could go inside their home to cool off. However, I'm still trying to partially self-isolate, so usually, when I'm with the family, I'm outside.
I'm really looking forward to getting the little Bronco pop-up camper back on the truck again. And it's not like I have any place to go at the moment, it just gives me a feeling of freedom that I CAN go someplace and stay overnight if I want to.
I'm rethinking removing my spare fuel tank from the truck before I load the little Bronco in the bed. Being able to leave the extra fuel tank in place all year simplifies my life and is much easier than taking the tank in and out every year. It's not really in the way it just means the little Bronco can't scoot as far forward as it's supposed to, which moves the center of gravity back several inches. But I've driven it with the tank in and the tank out and really can't tell any difference. So, as usual, I will probably choose whichever requires the least effort on my part.
When the swallowtail butterfly was flying away it kind of resembled a very colorful B-2 bomber... Or maybe a B-2 bomber resembles a swallowtail butterfly
Yesterday afternoon a few "little kids" fireworks were set off in the driveway as a prelude to the big show tomorrow night. The grandkids were a little apprehensive about what was going to happen but as soon as they figured out it was just going to smoke they came out of their shells.
