Kind of a busy day today because I've been getting ready to leave tomorrow. I went to Artesia this morning and filled up the truck with fuel, and took a picture of the big refinery there that I was told makes jet fuel. The weird thing is it's right downtown if the place blew up there would be nothing left of Artesia.
In fact all around Artesia are oil wells everywhere you look, I didn't realize there was so much oil down here but I guess I shouldn't have been surprised because Artesia is near the Texas Panhandle and the Panhandle is full of oil wells.
I did laundry this afternoon, that always kills about two hours, and started putting things away in the trailer so they won't fall over when I get on the road. Took a few more things to the Ranch House to donate to others who may need them. dumped all of the water out of my water tank so I can fill it up with the good R.O. water that they have here. So now about the only thing I have left to do in the morning is put in the living room slide, hook up, and dump my black and gray water tanks.
As usual I'm looking forward to being on the road again. I don't know exactly where I'm going tomorrow but of one thing you can be sure, it won't be very far.
Just in case you've never seen one before, this is the pump that pumps the oil out of an oil well.
Every tiny white dot you see in this Google earth picture is a pump pumping oil out of an oil well.
