Or most any other government agency. I went to the Optometrist this morning and surprise surprise he said my eyes were fine and well within the DMV's requirements to drive. I don't know why that surprises me, I've been dealing with the DMV on various things for many many years and I seldom walk out of the building happy for anything other than I'm leaving the DMV.
I gave the DMV the paper that the doctor filled out certifying that my eyes are almost perfect, in fact the doctor didn't even recommend that I get new glasses he said the prescription of my old glasses would be almost the same as the test he just gave me. So I thanked him, handed him $90, and left.
I gave DMV man the paper from the doctor and he typed up my new license. I was going to suggest that the DMV owed me $90 for their mistake, but since it is going to take a couple of weeks for them to mail me my new license, I didn't want to take a chance on something happening to it, so I kept my mouth shut.
It's been another chilly rainy day so I haven't done much of anything useful today except get my drivers license stuff finished up. But that was important so I'm glad that's out of the way. My license is now good for five more years, my address has been changed, and I have an "M" for motorcycle on my new license.
