Will I ? Or won't I ?

My grandson lost a tooth yesterday, and this morning found that the tooth fairy left him five dollars under his pillow, I myself never got more than a dime, but that's another story.... Actually what he found under his pillow was an IOU from Grandpa borrowing the five dollars to be paid back on an unspecified date.... I feel that will be a valuable life lesson about the negligence of leaving large amounts of money laying unattended under your pillow.

I was asked recently if I'm really, actually, for sure, going to use the little Bronco slide-in truck camper for my winter travels this season? And the most precise answer I can give is... I'm not sure yet, but I'm leaning heavily in that direction.

I think it would be fun to give it a try, and since I leave the little Bronco on my truck all summer, I get used to it being there while my truck is being used as a daily driver and I really can't tell any difference in the way I use my truck with the little Bronco on it, or off of it.

A long time ago, I used to have a topper on one of my pickup trucks. It was the same height as the truck cab, and I occasionally slept in it when I was out in the woods. And so far, there hasn't been any difference in what the truck with the topper did when I had it and this truck with the little Bronco camper on it. Which is a long-winded way of saying after the first day or two of putting the little Bronco camper back on the truck; I'm no longer aware it's even back there. Which is a vast difference from when I'm towing the Arctic Fox, and I'm constantly aware of its presence in numerous ways.

And what that translates to is STRESS. I literally have no more driving stress with the little Bronco on the back of the truck than I do without it. And to me, it doesn't matter if the trailer is 30 feet long like the Arctic Fox or 3 feet long; it's got a lot of the same problems. More tires on the road, more bearings to fail, gas stations that aren't big enough, the difficulty of backing up, spending money on a trailer tag every year, boondocking spots you're too big to fit in, the issue of parking, the possible failure of whatever coupling is used to hook the trailer to the truck, the places you can't go with the trailer attached, and the infamous tail wagging the dog syndrome that plagues some trailers under certain conditions.

And to me, just getting those few things out of my life will make going from place to place during the winter not only better and safer but more importantly...Enjoyable, and I am all about the enjoyment of my full-timer boondocking lifestyle.

I have three sets of stairs to get into the little Bronco camper at the moment. Laying right inside the doorway there's some fold up steps that I use when I'm going to stay someplace for a while. Sitting on the ground on the left is the original steps I bought to quickly get in and out of the little Bronco, such as putting the Walmart groceries inside. But these steps are kinda low and the first step out of the little Bronco onto the steps is a very long one and had face plant written all over it.

The taller steps on the right, I just bought the other day and are supposed to solve that problem, and if it does the  short steps will go away. The tall steps have a weight limit of 200 pounds, so this may give me the motivation to keep my weight at the current 185... We shall see.

This red-winged, blue nosed, bifurcated, house warbler, is indigenous to the Colorado high country and is seldom found below 11,000 feet except on its annual migration to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras.

It's normal diet consists of wild grass seeds, Beignets, and Mardi Gras beads.

The birds mate once a year, and lays a clutch of 32 eggs some of which hatch out as baby alligators.... You can blame that on the Mardi Gras!

It takes two years for the baby birds to learn to fly and up to three years for the baby alligators. Unable to fly for several years the mother bird carries each one of the babies from New Orleans back to the Colorado high country on her back making 32 trips.

This probably explains the rumors, and tall tales of alligators flying around the high country.
