Even when a boondocking areas crowded I can usually still find a place where I'm not surrounded by people, this time it was made easy by a lot of folks not wanting to drive on the sandy roads.

I've lost count of the times I've been so happy I'm not living in a large RV anymore. Just driving here this morning I was thinking about how my stress levels of driving down the road with the camper on are no greater than driving down the road in my empty truck.

Arriving in Yuma, Arizona, about 10 o'clock in the morning made it an easy one-hour drive from Dateland. The 60° morning temperature and cloudless blue skies made it T-shirt weather and a pleasant walk around the boondocking areas, getting reacquainted with a place I've boondocked many times, safely, comfortably, and happily in the past.

I believe one of the unique things about this BLM boondocking area is it's so small, I'm guessing about 50 or 60 acres, and it's popular enough, maybe because of the proximity to shopping, that it's almost like staying in an RV Park.

That doesn't endear this place to me since I would much rather be off by myself, but it has some other qualities that I appreciate. Even though it's crowded, I've never seen a time when I couldn't find a spot to stay, and that could be because I think it's a common thing for normal people to want to stay near other people, which means normal folks are packed together leaving a few spaces for oddballs like me. And the fact that my tiny home is very small opens up even more opportunities for fitting in places other folks can't or won't go.

This Yuma boondocking area shows the toad floater rain event southern Arizona had the other day when I was in Ajo. There are some areas washed out, so you can't get a camper in it anymore, and there's still a lot of sandy mud around, making it difficult for large RVs to maneuver, none of which affects me since I'm small and have four-wheel-drive.

And I was right about my prediction that this area wouldn't be crowded because of the "Big Show" in Quartzsite. This boondocking area is a little over half the normal number of RVs that I've seen.

This is one of several boondocking spots that probably won't get used until it dries out for a while.

An entire scary road where most RVs fear to tread, I could've boondocked on if I needed to.

I would say this homemade truck camper had leaking problems the other day that made my leaking problem seem nonexistent.
